Taking Bonita Ely’s work A Mother Shows Her Daughter to the Universe (1982) as a starting point, An Offering presents new works from five contemporary Brisbane artists relating to their own experiences of motherhood.
At the opening on Saturday 4 March there was an artist talk by Bonita Ely, along with performances by Naomi Blacklock and Sally Molloy.

The exhibition is the result of my Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowship (18-19), the Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowships are an initiative of Brisbane City Council. My pitched Fellowship project was postponed, cancelled, then reimagined, following the birth of my children and the impacts of Covid-19.
